Terms of sale

1. Purpose and scope

These general terms of sale govern all sales concluded on the Au Pied du Sapin website between the seller named in Article 2 and any consumer within the meaning of the French Consumer Code. Placing an order implies acceptance of these terms without reservation.

3. Products

The essential characteristics of each item — material, dimensions, available colours, estimated dispatch time — are shown on its product page. Photographs are supplied by our partner workshops for illustration; slight colour variations are possible depending on your screen and the production batch.

Our offers are valid while stocks last. If an item turns out to be unavailable after you order, you'll be informed without delay and refunded in full.

4. Prices

Prices are shown net of tax (VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code). Delivery charges are shown separately before you finally confirm your order and are detailed in our shipping policy.

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time; the price that applies is the one displayed when you confirm your order.

5. Ordering

The process has the following steps: selecting items, checking your basket, entering your details and delivery address, choosing delivery and payment methods, then confirming. Successful payment concludes the contract. A summary email is sent to you.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of a previous payment dispute, suspected fraud, or an order that is clearly abnormal for personal use.

6. Payment

Payment is due immediately when you order. Transactions are processed by Shopify Payments and the payment providers shown at checkout. We never have access to full card details.

7. Delivery

Delivery terms, rates and times are set out in our shipping policy, which forms an integral part of these terms. Please note that an order may be delivered in several parcels from different workshops.

Under Article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code, we deliver no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded, unless a longer time is expressly stated on the product page.

8. Right of withdrawal

You have 14 days to withdraw. The conditions, exclusions and refund arrangements are detailed in our refund policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

9. Guarantees

All our items benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code), independently of any commercial guarantee.

10. Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, email us at contact@aupieddusapin.fr. We reply within 48 working hours.

Under Article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge to resolve a dispute amicably, after first sending us a written complaint that has not received a satisfactory answer.

11. Personal data

How we process your data is described in our privacy policy. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, which you can exercise at contact@aupieddusapin.fr.

12. Intellectual property

All elements of the site — text, images, logo, layout — are protected. Any reproduction without written permission is prohibited.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protective rules that apply to consumers.
